Riesling Grand Cru Eichberg

In 1902, growers joined forces in a difficult time and founded the Eguisheim cooperative. They shared a cellar and exchanged vineyard knowledge while continuing to work their own plots. That practical spirit still gives Wolfberger its character: many growers, working together under one name.

A new generation introduced the Wolfberger name in the 1970s. Created for the first Crémants d'Alsace, it grew into a house embracing still wines, sparkling wines and spirits. Today, 290 member growers carry that work forward. Behind the breadth of the range are the people tending the vines, season after season.

Wolfberger's vineyard stretches across 1,200 hectares divided into 13,000 parcels. Each is worked by the grower who knows it. These small pieces of land sit within Alsace's sheltered landscape, on the eastern slopes of the Vosges, where the mountains help make this one of France's driest wine regions.

The work follows the seasons. Pruning prepares the vines for the coming harvest and their longer life; spring brings hands-on care of new growth. This is where the collective begins, well before the grapes reach the cellar: with growers making careful decisions in their own rows.

In Eguisheim, the growers' harvest becomes a broad family of Alsace wines. Alongside the still whites are Grands Crus, sparkling Crémants d'Alsace and eaux-de-vie. Winemaking and distilling give the house different ways to express the fruit its growers bring in.

Wolfberger is certified for sustainable farming, food safety and energy management, with the energy certification covering its Colmar production site. Grower reviews and training help put that work into practice, from caring for vines to responding to changing weather. These commitments connect the care taken in individual vineyards with the work of the wider house.

Collection Signature begins with a tasting. Every year, a committee of recognised sommeliers chooses the most expressive wine of each variety from the vintage. The selection changes with the harvest, giving you a fresh reason to return to a familiar grape.

Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer are the classic ways into the range. Each wine is made entirely from the variety named on its label, so you can explore the grapes side by side.
