Grape Variety

Zweigeltrebe

A crossing of Blaufränkisch and Saint-Laurent made in Austria in 1922 and widely planted across Moravia, where it is called Zweigeltrebe. It ripens reliably in a cool continental climate and gives supple wines with sour-cherry fruit, which is what it contributes to a rosé blend.
