From the Eguisheim cooperative to Collection Signature, discover the people, parcels and wines behind Wolfberger.

Wolfberger began in 1902 as the Cave coopérative d'Eguisheim. Growers facing difficult times pooled their efforts, investing in a shared cellar and 60 Hungarian-oak casks. They also exchanged vineyard knowledge. The cooperative gave individual growers a place to bring their harvests and learn from one another.
A bottle from this house begins with people who work their own rows and bring their harvests together. Eguisheim is the meeting point. From there, Wolfberger invites you into a range that reaches from still Alsace wines to sparkling Crémants and spirits, with plenty of room to follow your curiosity.

Today, 290 growers work 1,200 hectares across 13,000 parcels. Picture a mosaic of small plots: different rows, familiar hands, a grower who knows where each day's work begins. Their fruit comes together through the cellar, but the attention starts much closer to the ground.
The rhythm of those plots follows the seasons. After harvest, pruning prepares the vines for future crops and their longer life. Spring brings work on new growth, much of it done by hand. A shared cellar brings together the care each grower gives to individual vines.
Grape-reception sites at Eguisheim and Dambach-la-Ville give the collective practical meeting points. The vineyard work and the cellar work are connected through the harvest, just as the growers are connected through the exchange of experience.

Alsace's vines follow the lower eastern slopes of the Vosges, between the mountains and the Rhine. The hills shelter one of France's driest wine regions. This is the wider landscape around Wolfberger's home village, where a view across the vines opens towards the plain.
Above Eguisheim, the south-east-facing Grand Cru Eichberg lies below three castles. Limestone conglomerate and marl sit beneath its vines. Lift your eyes from the village towards that hillside and the appeal of Alsace becomes tangible: there is always another fold of the landscape, another vineyard name to follow into a glass.

A new generation of growers brought in the Wolfberger name in the 1970s; the brand was created in 1976 for its first Crémants. President Xavier Ehrhart and general manager Pierre Hussherr helped shape this period. Sparkling wine gave the collective a new way to bring Alsace to the glass.
The acquisition of the Jacobert distillery followed in 1979, with new bottling and Crémant facilities in the early 1990s. Still wines, Grands Crus, sparkling wines and eaux-de-vie each call on different cellar skills. That breadth gives you several routes into the house, whether your interest begins with a grape, a vineyard or a style.

Collection Signature brings a closer focus to that broad range. Every year, a committee of recognised sommeliers chooses each variety's most expressive wine of the harvest. The name stays familiar, while the selection follows the vintage. It is a reason to revisit a grape you already enjoy.
Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer Collection Signature let you enter the range through a familiar grape or a name you have yet to try. Each is made entirely from its named variety. Set the bottles together and the choice becomes an invitation, with a different route into the same house waiting behind each label.
Bring Wolfberger to the table and give the evening a taste of Alsace. Choose a grape that draws your curiosity, pour a glass for someone beside you, and let the first sip begin the conversation. A shared bottle can become the memory of an evening and the promise of another.
Behind that pleasure stands a house shaped by generations of growers, with Eguisheim at its heart. As the glasses are filled and dinner unfolds, their work finds its welcome at your table.
