Czech heritage, Moravian grapes and refined traditional-method cuvées: discover a sparkling wine house with a distinctive personality and a lively spirit of celebration.

A fine sparkling wine brings more than bubbles to the table. It can set the mood, complement a dish and offer a first taste of a place yet to be explored. Bohemia Sekt brings that invitation from the Czech Republic, combining historic cellars, generations of expertise and a genuine pleasure in making sparkling wine part of life.
The house offers a broad range of styles. Its classic cuvées bring freshness and accessibility to everyday occasions, while the Prestige collection reveals the finesse created by bottle fermentation and extended ageing on the lees. The result is a distinctly Czech approach to sparkling wine, equally suited to relaxed celebrations, shared meals and more refined occasions.
The story of Bohemia Sekt began in 1942 in Starý Plzenec, a historic town in western Bohemia. Former brewery cellars provided the cool and stable conditions needed to produce and mature sparkling wine.
Château Radyně followed in 1945, establishing a name that remains part of the house’s collection today. The later collaboration with French cellar master Louis Girardot contributed to the development of its expertise and helped shape an approach that combines European sparkling wine tradition with a distinctive Czech identity.
That meeting of heritage and craftsmanship continues to define Bohemia Sekt. The wines bring together grapes grown in Moravia and the patient work carried out in the cellars of Starý Plzenec, connecting two important parts of the Czech wine story in every bottle.

Although the house is based in Bohemia, many of the grapes used in its traditional-method cuvées come from Moravia, the Czech Republic’s main wine-growing region. This connection between Moravian vineyards and Bohemian cellars is central to the identity of the wines.
The production of quality sparkling wine begins with base wines that offer freshness, balance and sufficient acidity. Selected Moravian grapes provide this foundation, allowing the cellar team to create cuvées with clarity, structure and precise aromas.
Each blend has its own personality. Some focus on freshness and bright fruit, while others gain greater texture, depth and complexity through bottle fermentation and longer ageing. Together, they offer an introduction to Czech wine through a variety of styles and tasting experiences.

For the Prestige and speciality cuvées, the transformation from still wine to sparkling wine takes place through a second fermentation in the bottle. This is known as the traditional method and is used to create many of the world’s most refined sparkling wines.
Once the second fermentation is complete, the bottles remain in contact with their lees, the natural sediment formed during fermentation. This period of ageing helps the wine develop finer bubbles, a smoother texture and more complex aromas. Depending on the blend and the length of ageing, fresh fruit notes may be joined by aromas of brioche, toast, nuts or pastry.
The sediment is eventually moved towards the neck of the bottle and removed during disgorgement. This precise process prepares the wine for its final dosage, which helps determine the balance and level of sweetness of the finished cuvée.
Every stage requires careful control, from the selection of the base wines to the final balance in the bottle. At Bohemia Sekt, the traditional method provides the craftsmanship through which the house expresses its Czech origins and individual style.

Bohemia Sekt offers styles for many tastes and occasions. The classic Brut and Demi Sec cuvées provide an approachable introduction, from fresh and dry to softer and more rounded. The Prestige collection adds the finesse of the traditional method, with expressions ranging from the balanced Prestige Brut and elegant Chardonnay to the fruitier Rosé Brut and sweeter Demi Sec.
For greater depth, Prestige 36, Louis Girardot and Château Radyně explore the influence of extended ageing, heritage and individual winemaking styles. Ripe fruit, toast, nuts and fine bubbles give these speciality cuvées a more complex personality.
ICE and ICE PINK! bring a more playful side to the collection. Created for serving over ice in a larger glass, they offer a colourful and relaxed choice for terraces, parties and warm-weather gatherings. Together, these ranges show the many ways Bohemia Sekt can become part of an occasion.
Behind the range stands Josef Švéda, Head Cellar Master at Bohemia Sekt. With more than three decades of experience in sparkling wine, he brings precision, continuity and a deep understanding of the house style to each cuvée.
His expertise is particularly evident in the Prestige collection. The quality of the base wines, the composition of each blend and the time spent on the lees must all work together in balance. These decisions shape the aromas and texture of the wine, the fineness of its bubbles and the way it develops in the glass.
The role of the cellar master is both technical and creative. It involves maintaining the identity and consistency of established cuvées while adapting to the individual qualities of each vintage.

Fresh brut styles work naturally as aperitifs and pair well with seafood, canapés, fresh cheeses and lightly seasoned dishes. The greater depth of the Prestige and speciality cuvées suits poultry, creamy dishes and mature cheeses, while rosé and demi-sec styles can complement fruit, desserts and lightly spiced cuisine. ICE and ICE PINK! are best enjoyed well chilled over ice for a more informal experience.
Beyond the individual wines, Bohemia Sekt offers an inviting introduction to the Czech Republic as a wine-producing country. It connects Moravian grapes with the sparkling wine heritage of Bohemia, opening the door to a European wine culture that remains unfamiliar to many international drinkers.
Whether you prefer the freshness of a classic cuvée, the finesse of Prestige or the relaxed style of ICE, the pleasure lies in finding the wine that suits your taste and the occasion. Discover the current Bohemia Sekt collection on Asiavino.
